Material Handler

JOB SUMMARY:
We are currently seeking an experienced Material Handler on 3rd shift! The ideal candidate will be able to load, unload, move, and coordinate flow of materials within the production area to ensure continuous production of products. The Material Handler must have the ability to effectively complete the essential duties and responsibilities as outlined below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conveys continuous flow of molding compounds to machines
• Loads hoppers and maintain proper levels during production
• Maintains desiccants and keeps dryers within required temperature range per standards
• Maintains and cleans loader filters as needed
• Maintains, empties, and cleans granulators, and transports regrind materials, scrap, etc. to proper holding areas
• Makes machines and equipment ready per applicable quality operating procedures
• Unload and clean hoppers after job completion and removes materials to proper storage or holding area. Attaches identifying tags or labels with material type, color, lot number, mixture, etc.
• Examines material delivered to Production Department to verify conformance to specifications
• Mixes molding compounds such as regrinds, colorants, or additives according to formula or as instructed
• Operates industrial lift truck to move materials and production parts
• Maintains material and dryer log documentation, as required
• Cleans work area, machines, and equipment daily as required
• Complete other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

• High school diploma or equivalent, or one to two years related experience and/or training
• Injection Molding experience
• Forklift certified a plus
• Ability to add, subtract, multiple, and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor. Exert up to 150 lbs. of force occasionally
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate the English language in a proficient manner
• Ability to speak and understand Spanish a plus
